Countdown to Snowdrops 2 Feb - Lady Wilbraham starts her blog....

With only three weeks before we open for our annual Snowdrop walks excitement is mounting!  The two early Snowdrops herald the six week season:  Three Ships (named after the Christmas Carol) and Milkwood, originating from Dylan Thomas' mother-in-laws garden, are reminding us how beautiful the Snowdrops will be.  The buds of the scented Daphnes and Sarrococcas and the earliest daffodil, January King are tantalising as we hold our breath at the thought of looming snow and frost!

In the tearoom kitchen all is warm and rosy as we concoct new soups for the menu; pea, ham and mint and cream parsnip and curry.  The citrus scent of Seville oranges for marmalade is making us believe we are all in Spain and not dear soggy old Cheshire, where at least the grass is emerald green and the weather must get better for our opening on February 2nd.
